G'day!  My name is Teri Hofford and I am the crazy person that has embarked on this lovely journey to achieving optimal health.  What you should know, is that this journey is not to help me get skinny or even fit into my jeans better.  It goes beyond that.  It is my attempt to appreciate and love my body for what it can do despite my neglectful efforts.  I have always had a passion for health, fitness, and using natural supplements and food as a cure.  I am against popping pills in the Western sense and love to learn more about Eastern medicine.  This blog started out as a journal for me to document my trials and tribulations as I flounder through life trying to find what works best for me.

A few things you should know before you read this blog:

1) I will be talking about periods, menstruation, and feminine issues as this is one of the main reasons I am trying to get healthy.  I am undiagnosed, but believe to have PCOS as I have many of the symptoms and the only reason that it goes undiagnosed is because I am not trying to get pregnant and therefore, do not experience infertility (usually the first sign that something is wrong)

2) I am not a doctor, nutritionist and have not been formerly trained in any of these areas.  That being said, I read everything I can get my hands on in regards to nutrition, natural medicine, and the science of health and most importantly, I will implement everything myself before even recommending (or NOT recommending!) certain activities, foods, and answers.  I just want to learn as much as possible and try to be as healthy as I can!

3)Like I said, I am not doing this to be skinny, but I am looking to get healthy and so, should weight loss occur, it will be slow and steady.  It is not the ultimate goal, but I do look forward to any results.  I will be posting images of myself before and during this process to keep myself motivated, so if you are not a fan of seeing smushy people in their underwear, steer clear of the PICTURE section.

Other than that, I hope that you will join me on this adventure to finally finding the perfect solution to being healthy!  I am done with the crash diets, the intense activity, and the unmaintainable lifestyle that is trying to achieve the perfect body.  I will be working from the inside out and whatever happens, happens!  Thank you for sticking around!
